ABOUT US

Services

-E-Tahkanawasot Care Centre offers child care services to High School students throughout the school year. (Child care spots go to Oskayak students first then if open spots are available students from other high schools may use the service)

-Oskayak students may use the services for extended hours to take part in extra curricular activities approved by the school. Such as homework club, drivers education, sports teams etc.

-We have 33 spaces: 12 Infants, 10 Toddlers, 6 Preschoolers and 5 Flexible spaces.

-Parents Must be under the age of 22.

-We offer an exceptional caring environment for infants, toddlers, preschoolers and school aged.

-We provide culturally responsive programming and provide children with a wide variety of educational opportunities that encourage the development of self-expression, communication, logical thinking, and problem solving. This stimulates the development of physical, social, emotional and cognitive areas of the child to maximize the child's potential

Environment

-The early learning centre has bright, engaging and child-safe rooms filled with toys and resources carefully chosen to encourage play and development.

-The children have regular routines and planned program activities designed individually to promote the development of each child and meet their needs in that areas of language, sensory, motor and social-emotional development.

-They spend time outside regularly on walks, field trips or in our stunning play area that was designed to promote the concept of nature based play and exploration.

Nutrition

The children are provided with freshly prepared meals and snacks by our cook in the school kitchen.

The weekly menus are posted in each classroom and we welcome the parents suggestions.

The meals and snacks provided are a nutritionally balanced  diet using a variety of fresh fruits, vegetables, meat, fish and egg dishes.
